Cutting film to fit a knee. Waking up stuck to the sheets. Greasy ointment on every T-shirt. A rash in a perfect rectangle where the wrap was. You just spent hours in the chair. Aftercare shouldn't be the hard part.

The Ink Beetle difference

Watch It Turn Into a Second Skin

It goes on as a gel, dries into a clear, breathable barrier, and comes off in one piece. No glue, no cutting, no greasy mess.

1Apply wetSpread a thin layer once your tattoo settles
2Dries in minutesSets into a clear, flexible film
3Peel or rinse offComes away in one piece or melts off in the shower

Made for Fresh Ink

No cutting, no taping, no greasy sheets. Just gel.

Goes On Wet 🖤

A thin layer straight after your session, even over fine lettering. No cutting film to fit.

Comes Off in One Piece ✨

The dried film lifts away as one clear sheet. Nothing sticky left behind.

Or Rinse It Off 🚿

Warm water turns it back into gel, so it simply washes away. Gentler than peeling on fresh skin.

Why Ink Beetle? Benefit By Benefit

Breathable Barrier

Dries into a clear film that helps protect fresh ink from dirt and bacteria.

Zero Adhesive

Nothing sticky against fresh skin. Great news if adhesive wraps leave you red.

Moves With You

Hands, fingers, knees, ankles and ribs, the spots where film lifts and wrinkles.

Clean & Easy

No grease on your clothes or sheets. Water turns it back to gel to rinse off.

The Problem With Wraps

Adhesive films need cutting to fit, lift on joints, and some people react to the glue. Cling film traps sweat. Ointments get on everything. Ink Beetle is just gel: squeeze, spread, let it dry.

Built for Artists, Too

No more cutting film for every knee and elbow at the end of a session. As one artist with 45 years of tattooing put it: "No more bulky bandages and tape."

2Let it dry
3Rinse & repeat

From Day 1 to Day 4

The film is clear, so your new piece isn't hidden under cloudy plastic while it settles. Reapply once a day for 3–4 days and watch it come through bold and clean.

Better than Second Skin!!

"Just got my hand done. Ink Beetle, unlike second skin, is a liquid gel. You squeeze it out and smooth it over like frosting a cake. It can cover my hand AND fingers easily. Second skin you’d have to cut individual pieces for each finger."

Absolutely a game changer

"I have used it on all of my clients for the last week or so. My clients love it and so do I. No more bulky bandages and tape. Dries quickly and washes off easily. After 45 years of tattooing, I have tried all of the "latest and greatest" products, this one is the real deal."

Game Changer

"As someone who is allergic to adhesives, it’s great to find something that helps protect that’s not adhesive. Also, I have cats who love to rub on my legs, that is where my new tattoo is… It’s like second skin. Just in love!"

Superior Protection

"It provided a no mess, no fuss barrier on my hard to cover ankle… The "skin" stayed in place with a sock and shoe on through an 8 hr shift on my feet unlike previous products I’ve used on this area. Washed off easily and then reapplied."

The way healing a tattoo should be!

"Healing, in my opinion, has always been the worst part of getting a tattoo. With all the greasy creams and feeling like you can’t move in fear of getting it all over your clothes or bedding… Ink Beetle truly has made the aftercare of this new tattoo a breeze and stress free."

Best product!

"It’s the only product I use and sell in my shop. My clients love it and that they can buy it here."

Frequently Asked Questions

You got questions. We got answers.

How is it different from Saniderm or second-skin films?
There's no adhesive and nothing to cut. Ink Beetle goes on as a gel and dries into a clear, flexible film, so it's easy on hands, fingers, knees and ankles where films lift. It rinses off in the shower instead of being peeled.
How do I apply it?
Let your tattoo rest for 5–10 minutes after your session so it stops weeping. Spread a thin, even layer over the whole tattoo and let it dry. Leave it on for 2–24 hours (most people sleep in it), rinse it off in the shower, then reapply once a day for 3–4 days.
It's peeling at the edges. What am I doing wrong?
Lots of movement, creases and sweat shorten how long the film lasts, so it may only hold a few hours on joints. Make sure the skin is clean and dry, use an even (not too thin) layer, and let it dry fully before clothes go on. When it lifts, just rinse it off and reapply.
How long does it take to dry?
Usually a few minutes. A thicker layer, a humid room or a still-weeping tattoo can take longer, closer to 10 minutes. Thinner, even layers dry fastest.
My tattoo is still weeping a lot. Can I use it?
If there's a lot of plasma or blood, the gel won't dry properly and will stay tacky. Use your artist's usual wrap until the weeping stops, then switch to Ink Beetle.
Should I peel it or wash it off?
Wash it off. Peeling it from fresh skin can pull, so let warm water in the shower turn it back to gel and rinse it away.
I react to adhesive wraps. Is it right for me?
Ink Beetle is latex-free and adhesive-free, which is why many people who react to film wraps use it. It contains botanicals like lavender oil and rosemary, and a few people feel a brief sting on fresh skin. If you have sensitive skin, try a small area first and stop if it irritates.
Delivery and returns?
Orders are dispatched the same day from London, with free UK delivery over £45 (the 2-tube pack qualifies). Unopened tubes can be returned within 30 days of purchase; return postage is paid by the customer.
Should I still follow my artist's aftercare advice?
Yes. Your artist knows your skin and your piece best, so always follow their instructions.

Ink Beetle Derm Gel is a cosmetic aftercare product and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or infection. Always follow your tattoo artist's aftercare instructions. Do not use on broken skin other than a fresh tattoo, and stop using if irritation occurs.
